Planning Your Call
------------------
PLAN Assuming you have the hardware and software you'll need, you are
YOUR ready to make that first call. Be sure to plan your call ahead
CALL of time. Determine what you would like to do. Plan around the
times when your favorite board is least likely to be busy. With
experience you will be able to get on the BBS, transact your
business, and log off with a minimum of time and expense.
Locating an OPUS(tm) system near you should be quite easy.
We publish a list of systems and a "nodelist" for mail purposes.
In addition, you will likely find a listing of local
boards available on many BBSs in your area.
Remember, when calling, that each OPUS(tm) system is run
exclusively by its Sysop. Requirements for registration (if
any) will vary from board to board. Some systems may be
completely private.

SETUP One final point. When setting up your communications software,
please remember the following parameters expected by OPUS(tm):
Baud Rate: 300, 1200 or 2400
Parity : None
Word : 8
Stop Bits: 1
That's about all you need to know. Why not start dialing ...
